Shameful “Occupy Democrats”

Colorado Shooter

Today we were witness to a shooting incident in Colorado.  Immediately, OccupyDemocrats.com were quick to begin their leftist narrative regarding the shooter and his motives.  On their website (see here) they were quick to label the shooter as a “right-wing terrorist”.  Notice how quickly they are able to throw around the word “terrorist” when they feel it suits their agenda.  (I wonder what will happen if we later find out the shooter was a Muslim?)  At the time of this writing, all we know is that the suspect has surrendered.  We know absolutely NOTHING more than that.

gunmanarrest397_20151127_202202At this moment, no names have been released, no motives have been identified, and police have not speculated on any more than that.  However, that didn’t stop OccupyDemocrats.com from making their own assumptions.  You see, the shooting either occurred within or near a Planned Parenthood facility.  Apparently that is enough information to initiate accusations regarding the shooter and his motives.  The posting on their website is entitled, “Right-Wing Terrorist Attack Underway At Colorado Planned Parenthood, Multiple Injuries Reported“.  What a shameful and disgraceful display of propaganda.

Their article also goes on to state the following:  “The motives of the shooter are unknown, but they are easy to guess. Planned Parenthood as recently  come under scrutiny (they obviously aren’t interested in proper editing either) thanks to heavily-edited right-wing videos purportedly showing the women’s healthcropped-largerlogo1 organization “selling baby parts” for fun and profit. Conservatives have wasted millions of taxpayer dollars probing the organization, to no avail, but this has not stopped the Right from fervently railing against Planned Parenthood.

This is the sort of garbage that takes flight with the leftists who aren’t interested in facts.  Their interest solely lies in pushing forward an agenda.  For all we know, this has absolutely nothing to do with Planned Parenthood.  But who am I to say?  I’m supposed to “easily guess” the motives of the shooter simply because they say so.  The article continues, “Until the situation is contained, we won’t have all the details, but at this point it is reasonable to speculate that the shooter, at minimum, has some sort of deep-seated issue with Planned Parenthood.

What we do know at this point is that the alleged shooter took aim at some law enforcement officers, injuring as many as five of them.  (UPDATE 11/27/15 9:12pm – two civilians and one officer reportedly killed.) If I were to take a page out of the leftists playbook, 1101843_1280x720I might say that it would be “easy to guess” that this shooting is just another in the long line of the Obama Administration’s assault on law enforcement.  But we are better than that! The leftists don’t even pretend to have factual information.  They outright stated that the relevant details have yet to be determined.  But why let that get in the way of a good opportunity to spew their bovine excrement?

Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving

As we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving tomorrow, it’s worth reminding ourselves of its origins.  The very first Thanksgiving took place in 1621.  It was a celebration of the pilgrims’ first successful harvest since arriving in America.  Historians tell us that the the first Thanksgiving was actually a three day festival.  As a result of the successful harvest of yellow-maize-1169337maize (corn), the pilgrims invited their Native Americans friends to join them in celebration.  It’s said that during those three days, the Native Americans hunted deer and provided venison as part of their contribution for the feast.

This original 3-day festival was considered a one-time event.  The pilgrims didn’t have any intentions of making it an annual tradition.  However, Thanksgiving became a holiday on Thursday November 26, 1789.  George Washington declared that day to be a national Thanksgiving holiday commemorating the original event.  Though it was celebrated on that day in 1789, it wasn’t an annual holiday or family tradition.  It wasn’t until many years later in the 1820’s when Sara Josepha Hale (known for Sarah-Hale-1615authoring Mary Had a Little Lamb) took it upon herself to petition to have Thanksgiving celebrated nationally as an annual holiday.  Rumor has it, she spent upwards of thirty years doing this, where she shared recipes of what would then become traditional menu items (pumpkin pie, turkey, and stuffing).  In 1863, President Abraham Lincoln declared Thanksgiving to be an annual holiday on the last Thursday in November.

Today we continue that tradition, but aren’t necessarily aware of how it came to be.  Our tradition has become one of feasting on the traditional menu items and watching football.  Thanksgiving is often seen as the springboard into the Christmas season.  Let’s pause to remember those brave pilgrims who risked everything to come to America and rid themselves of religious persecution.  More than half of those who made the trip to America didn’t survive to see the first Thanksgiving festival.  Those who did were thankful to God for their good fortune.  It was that successful harvest which encouraged them to stay in America and not return home.

Today we are thankful for the fortitude and faith of those pilgrims.  They paved the path to what would become the greatest nation on earth.  We are appreciative of all of the good fortunes we share today because of their sacrifice.

Offensive

Increasingly offended

Today’s story of the increasingly offended comes to us from our neighbors to the north.  Buckle up because this one is a doozy.  The University of Ottawa cancelled a yoga class which was offered to students for free.  UofOttawa_LogoThe reason?  Cultural appropriation.  If you’re shaking your head, you’re not alone.  According to Wikipedia, “Cultural appropriation is a sociological concept which views the adoption or use of elements of one culture by members of a different culture as a largely negative phenomenon.  Generally, an assumption that the culture being borrowed from is also being oppressed by the culture doing the borrowing is prerequisite to the concept.”  (Say that three times, fast.)

According to the story, staff at the Centre for Students with Disabilities issued an e-mail claiming that “while yoga is a really great idea and accessible and  great for students . . . there are cultural issues of implication involved in the practice.”

Jen Scharf has served as the yoga instructor for the Centre for Students with Disabilities for the past seven years.  According to Scharf, “I guess it was this cultural appropriation issue because yoga originally comes from India.  I told them, ‘Why don’t we just change the name of the course?’ It’s simple enough, just call it mindful stretching.… We’re not going through the finer points of scripture. We’re talking about basic physical awareness and how to stretch so that you feel good.”

I know this story is based out of Canada, but it’s quite relevant to what we are experiencing here in the US.  Though I shouldn’t be, I’m amazed at the hypocrisy of what takes place in our own country.  It’s rather interesting to hear leftists in this country decry those who seek to follow their own beliefs if those beliefs don’t suit the narrative.  In such cases they are labeled as racist or phobic or opposed to diversity.

Today we see many examples of such intolerance, particularly with regards to Christianity. The traditions and cultural activities associated with Christianity are viewed as offensive to those who are not Christian.  Saying “Merry Christmas” and displaying a Christmas tree are seemingly offensive and politically incorrect.  In response to the growing level of intolerance, a bakery in Ohio has found it necessary to publicly display a sign stating their values and beliefs.  Sadly, there has been plenty of negative publicity as a result.

But it’s not only Christians who are fighting the “PC” battle.  Universities across the country have recently been a hotbed of racial instability.  The University of UVMOfficial_LogoVermont  held a 3-day retreat this past week where students could confront their “white privilege”.   There are many myths surrounding the so-called “white privilege”, but ultimately aren’t such retreats equally racist?  Shouldn’t diversity  encompass all groups?

According to those on the left, if you are opposed to allowing thousands of Syrain refugees into this country, then you are certainly Islamophobic or racist.  Yet those same people attack Christianity.  The leftist allows and promotes a growing population who are increasingly offended by the culture, acts, or beliefs of others.   Yet they are fully in favor of growing a diverse community where we are told to be accepting of outside cultures.  The irony in all of this is that what we really have here is the growth of something called Cultural Homogenization.  Diversity can not exist in a society where the masses find the cultural behaviors of others offensive.  These two are in constant competition with one another.

America has always been accepting of various cultures.  We are truly a diverse nation.  A diverse nation with its own culture and American values.  Though we believe in diversity, there is an expectation that various cultures assimilate and share our American values.   We can not continue to accommodate those who are increasingly offended, for this cannot coexist with diversity.

Burping up Lies

Cheerleading the lies of the left…

There has been so much propaganda and misinformation coming out following the events that took place in Paris just a week ago.  Much of this coming right from the horse’s  our president’s mouth.    Despite what several government intelligence experts have stated, Obama is insistent that we have a very stringent vetting process in place for the 10,000 Syrian refugees that he is unilaterally imposing on the American people.

Sadly, the mainstream media just blindly go along with Obama’s trail of lies and deception.  There is no real journalistic effort to call any of what he has said into question.  Much of the challenge is that Obama knows that the majority of voters and citizens in this country are these so-called “low information voters”.    These are the people who watch the network news assuming the information they see is the result of journalistic integrity.  Unfortunately, they are being misled.  Obama has become a master of deceit.  He knows that if he says it, the mainstream media will not only fail to challenge him, they will help spread his narrative.  His presidency has relied on the Praetorian guard media to protect and help him. There are many examples of  him doing this.   This week he said the following:

“When I hear political leaders suggesting that there would be a religious test for which a person who’s fleeing from a war-torn country is admitted, when some of those folks themselves come from families who benefited from protection when they were fleeing political persecution — that’s shameful.  That’s not American. That’s not who we are. We don’t have religious tests to our compassion.”

The problem with that statement is that we have had a history of using religious testing to vet refugees.  As for the media response – crickets!  Obama is also a master propagandist.  He took the opportunity to mock Ted Cruz and other conservatives saying, “They’re scared of widows and 3 year old orphans.”  It’s exactly this type of propaganda that he counts on to further his objectives.

Thankfully Rep. Trey Gowdy (SC) is not afraid to set the record straight:

Obama aside, we also see the liberal left extend their own reach of deception. Social media is a favorable avenue where you will often find them cheerleading their own lies.  Here are a few examples:

jobs

According to Snopes.com:  “Given this history, it is undeniably true that Steve Jobs’ biological father was a Syrian immigrant — but was he also a refugee? This is where the story becomes less clear. Virtually all articles detailing Jandali’s life describe him as a Syrian immigrant, not a refugee. In fact, we found no articles describing him as a refugee published prior to the November 2015 terrorist attacks in Paris. While Jandali appears to have fled Beirut around 1952 due to the unrest occurring in that country at the time, we found no evidence that he could not have safely returned to Syria afterwards.”

Then there’s this one:

od6It is American to dutifully protect the citizenry of this country.  It is American to ensure that any refugee allowed in this country has been properly vetted.  It is American to be diligent and question the acceptance of refugees after seeing the failure of refugee practices in Europe.   Congress passed a bill this week asking for more stringent and detailed vetting procedures before allowing refugees into the US.  A reasonable bill that Obama has vowed to veto.  Why?

It’s my hope that we have a new dawn in America.  An America that is awakening and is fed up with these false narratives.  But it’s up to each of us to make a difference.  It’s time to hold this president and his media mouthpieces accountable.  Let’s make that happen!

Time to Retire McCain

Logo1

Arizona Needs to Retire John McCain

I respect John McCain for being a veteran and serving our country.  Many will say he was heroic, and for his time served in the US Navy, I thank him.  However, his time served as a US Senator needs to come to an end.  In recent years he has let emotion get in the way of objectivity.  Allow me to explain…

McCainJohn McCain has been long considered an establishment republican.  He was originally elected to the US House of Representatives in 1982 and to the US Senate in 1986.  He has served in Congress for nearly 35 years.  In those 35 years, he has enjoyed his share of shining moments as well as controversy including the Keating 5 scandal.  In his last bid for re-election to the US Senate in 2010, McCain was criticized for frequently changing positions and being soft on issues.  He liked to mold himself as a conservative, but never received the solid backing of the Tea Party Movement (a strong conservative base).  It wasn’t until Sarah Palin, a solid conservative, jumped into the fray and offered her support to McCain, that he succeeded.

Despite McCain receiving the support of much of the conservative base during his last election, he has historically abandoned that base while in office.  ConservativeReview.com has consistently rated John McCain with a very low Liberty Score.  Currently he scores at “41%”, with an F rating.  Recently, he has voted to fund Obamacare, fund Obama’s illegal Amnesty, raise the debt ceiling, and fund Planned Parenthood among other things.  But what is equally troubling to me is not just his vote on these key, but his incessant bashing of Senate conservatives like Mike Lee (UT), and particularly Ted Cruz (TX).

Both of these junior senators appealed to the conservative voters in their respective states and were elected to the US Senate (Lee in 2010 and Cruz in 2012).  Mike Lee has earned a 100% Liberty Score at ConservativeReview.com,  and may be considered a more solid conservative than Ted Cruz (97% Liberty Score).  But it was Cruz who more dc listenfrequently stepped out into the political spotlight and voiced his concerns about the establishment in Washington.  He even coined the phrase, “Make DC Listen” to spread the truth about Washington.  His words fell on the ears of many conservatives throughout the country and helped fuel the flames against a mighty republican establishment.  Along the way, Cruz has made enemies (none of which he has been apologetic for) which included the mainstream media and establishment members of both bodies of Congress, especially John McCain.

In September 2013, Ted Cruz stood before the Senate and spoke for nearly 22 hours in opposition to Obamacare.  Many republicans, including McCain chose to abandon Cruz in his efforts.  To make matters worse, not only did John McCain abandon Cruz, he stood on the Senate floor and berated Cruz for his stance.  McCain said, “We fought as hard as we could in a fair and honest manner and we lost. I campaigned all over America for two months, everywhere I could, and in every single campaign rally I said and we have to repeal and replace Obamacare. Well, the people spoke. . . . That doesn’t mean that we give up our efforts to try to replace and repair Obamacare. But it does mean that elections have consequences.”  McCain made clear the republican position of surrender.

In Ted Cruz’s book, A Time for Truth, he opens with a story of how Washington works and the problems with the republican establishment.  He writes, “…members of the Republican leadership stood before us (at a Tuesday Republican luncheon) and asked every senator to join with the Democrats in granting unanimous consent to lower the 60-vote threshold to take up the debt ceiling to just 50 votes.

None of us should oppose this, we were told, and for two reasons.  First, if we lowered the threshold, then the “clean” debt ceiling would pass, and that was very much the outcome the leadership assumed each of us really desired.  And second, if we consented to lowering the threshold, Democrats would then have the votes to raise the debt ceiling on their own.  We could all vote no.  This way we could return home and tell the voters that we had opposed raising the debt ceiling, right after consenting to let it happen.”

Surely Cruz’s disclosure of such back room politics didn’t sit well with the establishment and McCain.  That brings us to this week.  The week following the atrocities in Paris.  Once a self-described conservative, McCain takes sides with Obama regarding Syrian refugees.  Despite the thirty plus governors and conservative base that oppose Obama’s position, McCain supports it.  Or does he?  McCain came out and called Cruz’s position on the Syrian refugee issue “shameful” and “not American”.    It makes one wonder, does John McCain really support Obama, or does he just dislike Ted Cruz so much that he is willing to compromise on principles?  After all, Cruz has rocked the boat of the establishment republicans.  Has emotion clouded McCain’s reasoning?  This writer believes so.

Please Arizona, it’s time to retire John McCain.

Boston Marathon Bombers were also “refugees”

Logo1

Boston Marathon Bombers were also “refugees”

For an example of what can happen when Islamic refugees are allowed into the United States we need look no further than the Boston Marathon bombers, Tamerlan & Dzhokar Tsarnaev.  As you may recall, the Tsarnaev brothers, along with the rest of their family, were granted political asylum in the United States as refugees from war-torn Chechnya.  (See here)

In addition to the grant of asylum, the Tsarnaev family collected $100,000 in various federal, state and local benefits in the form of Medicaid, SNAP (food stamps), cash assistance, SSDI (Disability), and Section 8 housing assistance. http://www.wcvb.com/news/local/metro/hearing-set-to-look-at-tsarnaev-family-welfare-benefits/19933058

dzhokhar-tsarnaev-cropDzhokar Tsarnaev, the surviving brother who now sits in federal prison awaiting execution, received a $2,500 scholarship from the City of Cambridge, Massachusetts to pursue higher education. He was honored during a reception at City Hall in May of 2011.    In addition to the scholarship, Dzhokar received approximately $20,000 in tuition deferrals from the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth due to economic circumstances.

In the opinion of this writer, the United States and the American people (not to mention the citizens of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts) were more than accommodating to the Tsarnaevs.  They were welcomed into this country with open arms.  They were fed, clothed, housed and educated at the expense of hard-working, law abiding American citizens.  Despite receiving hospitality at a level that they could only dream of in their native country, the Tsarnaev brothers possessed a burning desire to kill Americans.

On April 15, 2013, they murdered an eight year old boy and two young women and maimed another 260 innocent people who were out on a beautiful day to cheer on their loved ones and other athletes as they bombers-in-crowdcrossed the finish-line of the Boston Marathon.  The brothers calmly and coldly placed bombs at the feet of their victims and simply walked away.  The images of Dzhokar Tsarnaev planting the bombs are as chilling as they are heart-breaking.  During their attempt to flee the brothers murdered a police officer. Another police officer was critically wounded during a shoot-out with the brothers and residents of numerous Boston suburbs huddled in their homes, afraid to go outdoors.

President Obama has described concerns over accepting refugees from Syria as “un-American” and “shameful”.  What would truly be shameful and un-American would be for another innocent American to be harmed by a so-called refugee.

What more could we have done for the Tsarnaevs?  Will we need to feed, clothe, house, and educate the thousands of individuals that the President wants to import? Do we need to give every one of them the keys to the city, yet continue to look over our shoulders to make sure the bombs have not been placed at our feet?Explosion at Boston marathon

State Governors are Right

Logo1

States say “No” to Syrian Refugees

Governors of eight states have expressed their opposition to accepting Syrian refugees into their states as a result of the ISIS attack in Paris.  Of the eight governors,  Gov. Robert Bentley (Alabama); Gov. Mike Pence (Indiana); Gov. Greg Abbott (Texas); and Gov. Rick Snyder (Michigan)  have outright stated a refusal to accept any additional refugees into their states.  Hopefully others will follow.  Just as the President of the United States has power to issue executive orders, so too do governors.  As executive leader of each state (or commonwealth), governors are allowed to issue Executive orders for the following reasons:  “trigger emergency powers during natural disasters, energy crises, and other situations requiring immediate attention”.(http://www.nga.org/cms/home/management-resources/governors-powers-and-authority.html#executive)  And these governors are right and they should act on behalf of the citizens of their respective states.

Government, in general has a primary responsibility of ensuring the safety of its citizens.  Its responsibility does not include compromising safety for reasons of empathy.  Do I have empathy for Syrian refugees?  Of course I do.  But the problem is we do not have the capability to properly vet refugees into this country.  fbiOn September 11th of this year, the Homeland Security Chairman issued an explicit warning regarding this very issue.   Just last month, the FBI also issued a similar warning.  As thousands of refugees prepare to enter into this country, what database is used to vet them?  Even if we had a valid database of potential terrorists from Syria and elsewhere, what identification will these refugees have on them?  Does anyone believe that if a person does not have identification we will turn them away?  I would venture a guess that few, if any of the refugees who are truly in need have valid identification.  What about those with false identification?  Surely none of those infiltrating the country will admit to being a terrorist. (See the 4 Stages of Islamic Conquest/Jihad, particularly the first stage).

Suppose our vetting process was better than the experts believe.  Suppose we are able to vet refugees with 99% accuracy.  Quite optimistic.  This means out of 10,000 Syrian refugees, the potential exists for allowing 100 refugees with terrorist ties into this country.  In this person’s opinion, that is 100 too many!  Today’s news indicate Obama now plans to bring in 45,000 of these refugees.  This is national suicide. The meme to the right might just say it best: Ben Carson Refugees

We only see the images and videos the media want us to see.   Here are the disturbing images the media doesn’t want you to see (warning strong language and graphic images):  http://buzzpo.com/this-is-the-most-disturbing-muslim-refugee-video-you-will-ever-see

As for our president, his actions don’t back up his words.  And even his words (or lack thereof) speaks volumes.  Has he ever said “Islamic Terrorism”?  Why is it so hard for him to utter those words?  So what did Obama do while the world was rocked and glued to the tragic events in Paris?  He released 5 prisoners from Guantanamo Bay to the United Arab Emirates.  Does that sound like he’s concerned?  Does that sound like the actions of someone who hours earlier denounced (to some degree) the terrorist attacks in Paris?

It has to be said…

It Has to be Said…

What a sad day it has been.  Seeing the scene unfold in Paris this evening is so incredibly sad, yet so maddening at the same time.  At the time of this writing, approximately 150 people have been killed  and scores injured.  parisBefore being accused of insensitivity by writing this, please know that I could not be more saddened and cannot offer enough prayers for those directly impacted by these horrific attacks today.  But despite the pain we feel in our hearts, there are some things that can’t be ignored.  As information continues to become available, it is becoming increasingly clear that these attacks were an orchestrated effort by ISIS.  Less than a year removed from the terror attack at Charlie Hebdo headquarters in Paris, and a few short months since the thwarted train attack, we are once again witness to the barbaric actions of Islamic terrorists.

Despite what Snopes may say, others have reported about said  “no-go zones” in European cities.   Earlier this year, the government in France even listed over 750 areas that were considered dangerous.  These were identified as areas with a large Islamic population who refuse to assimilate and challenge authority.   It fbihas also been well documented that similar areas exist within London.  Given the nature of this information, we have to remain vigilant here in the United States.
There are currently 22 areas right here in the USA, that have been identified as possible terrorist training camps.   The FBI has currently  listed approximately 1000 probes involving terrorist training groups (some ISIS related) here in the states.  If we think we are exempt and safe from the attacks we witnessed today, we are sadly mistaken.

“A sovereign state is generally defined to be any nation or people, whatever may be the form of its internal constitution, which governs itself independently of foreign powers.” (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sovereign_state).

Friends, we must remain a sovereign nation.  We cannot allow foreigners who enter this country, to do so without any intent to assimilate.  It is not compassionate nor is it safe for the citizens of a sovereign nation to allow for this.  We must close our borders, for a nation without borders cannot exist as a sovereign nation.  We are a nation of laws.  We are not a nation that allows the executive branch to choose which laws to follow and which to ignore.  We are not a nation that is anti-immigrant.  On the contrary.  We are a nation containing immigrants who assimilated and became citizens.  Immigrants who valued our culture and liberty.  Immigrants who sacrificed to achieve the American dream.  Immigrants who are privileged to be part of our civil society.   We cannot choose to ignore our immigration laws.  We cannot choose to ignore the rule of law, the Constitution.  Our leaders in particular must abide and enforce these laws.  We cannot and should not allow that style of government.  We are traveling down the path towards fascism if we sit back and act complacently as we watch the rule of law be violated.  For when that happens, it results in the destruction of the civil society.

I would not be surprised if my friends on the left accuse me of fear mongering.  That is not what I am doing.  If that is how you feel, then so be it.  You decide.  In my opinion, it has to be said…

Big Government

Big Government….it’s not just the IRS

FBC debateWe heard a lot about big government during last night’s Republican Debates on Fox Business Channel. There were several references to our current tax code, the IRS, and how both are strangling the American worker and the American economy.  The call to abolish the IRS and to institute either a Flat Tax or Fair Tax should be cheered by anyone truly interested in rebuilding our manufacturing industries and the American economy.  This writer happens to favor the Fair Tax for one simple reason: it taxes everyone, fairly. Since the Flat Tax is still an income-based tax, those who earn their incomes illegally (drug dealers, criminals, illegal workers paid in cash) don’t declare any income and will continue to avoid taxes while honest,  law-abiding and hard-working  American citizens will continue to pay.  While those drug dealers, criminals and illegals don’t declare their income they do, however, buy things.  Since the Fair Tax is essentially a national sales tax, it is collected at the point of purchase.  As a result, those who have avoided taxation for years will suddenly be paying taxes and contributing to the tax base.  The Fair Tax also includes in the tax base those from other countries who are here on student visas, vacationing, or otherwise enjoying this great country.   Those people also buy things while they are here and will, accordingly, contribute to the tax base.

Moving to either a Fair or a Flat Tax will go a long way toward reducing the size irsof our government, especially since the IRS will be abolished.  But what is BIG GOVERNMENT exactly? No one summed it up better than Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions who Tweeted a picture of President Obama’s Trans-Pacific Partnership treaty legislation earlier this week.

According to Sessions the proposed legislation is 5,554 pages long, over 2 feet high and weighs 100 pounds.  That’s big–and that, my friends, is BIG GOVERNMENT.   It’s the Executive Branch pushing through monstrous pieces of legislation that can’t possibly be reviewed or understood by the American public prior to passage.  Remember Nancy Pelosi telling us that we had to pass Obamacare, another incredibly large and complex piece of legislation, in order to know what’s in it?  President Obama disingenuously urged Americans to read all 5,554 pages and 2 million words of the TPP and decide for themselves [Note that there are approximately 800,000 words in the King James Bible].  (To see the proposed legislation, click HERE.)   Good luck–the Table of Contents alone is dizzying.

And that’s not the worst of it. Once this type of legislation is passed, new government agencies are created and thousands upon thousands of pages of regulations are promulgated and imposed upon the American people.  Under Dodd-Frank a brand new agency, The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, was created. There are already approximately 18,000 pages of regulations that have been issued by the CFPB, all of which have the power of law.  Check out the regulations for yourself at http://www.consumerfinance.gov/regulations/#finalrules.

It was great to hear the candidates discuss their tax plans.  It’s an excellent start and we definitely need to start somewhere.  We need more though. We need to discuss how we reign in a monstrous federal government that passes voluminous and complicated pieces of legislation coupled with thousands and thousands of pages of regulations.  It’s not only the IRS and the tax code that have a choke-hold on this country.

Ignorant one?

Logo1

Who’s the ignorant one?

As I often do, I recently explored a blog that one of my liberal friends “liked” on Facebook.  I tend to do this to get insight into the shutterstock_326518226mindset that drives the ideology and other misguided information that is pushed by the left.

Recently I came across a real eye opener. If it weren’t written in  such a serious manner, I would think it was satire.  It’s that laughable.   And you don’t have to get very far before you see where I’m going with this.  The title speaks for itself.  Here is the title and link to the blog:

I am hesitant to give you the link to this blog because it will just increase its popularity by adding to the hits it receives, but you really need to read it just to get a sense of the ridiculousness involved here.  The blogger writes, “As a neurologist in practice for 20 years and one who has worked closely with many neurosurgeons I can assure you, Dr. Ben Carson is not smart. Not even close. He is a painfully ignorant person. This is an easy point to defend. We  are all familiar with the litany of uninformed, intellectually shabby statements he has made over the last few months; a list that I won’t waste electrons repeating.”   What?!  You launch a damning accusation against Dr. Carson and then follow it up by telling the readers you won’t support your position?

The blog continues, “Smart” is a multifaceted cognitive feature composed of excellent analytical skills, possession of an extensive knowledge base that is easily and frequently augmented, possession of a good memory, and being readily curious about the world and willing, even eager, to reject previously accepted notions in the face of new data. Being smart includes having the ability to analyze new data for validity and, thinking creatively, draw new insights from existing common knowledge.”  I don’t know about you, but it sounds like this blogger has made the case against himself.  If he has “extensive knowledge” that supports his claim against Dr. Carson, why not share?

It would also appear this blogger is the one who lacks the curiosity and is unwavering in his views.  This kind of resembles these “global warming” al-gore-invent-global-warming-redfolks too, doesn’t it?  But I digress.  You see this is indicative of the left as well as the mainstream media.  They will go out of their way to spread their narrative, but when faced with the truth, they have only one way to turn.  They turn to name calling and branding anyone who disagrees with them as a “hater” or someone who has a “war on ________” (fill in the cause).  The problem here is simple. Their followers NEVER question them!  Their feet are never put to the fire.  Instead the left just go along and treat their narrative as if it were gospel.

So why let facts get in the way of a good liberal narrative, right?  Here are a few facts about Dr. Ben Carson:

  • graduated at the top of his high school class
  • enrolled at Yale University and graduated in 1973 with a BA degree
  • enrolled in the School of Medicine at the University of Michigan and earned his medical degree in 1977
  • became chief resident in neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins University in 1982ncb
  • authored Gifted Hands after spending time serving as a neurosurgeon in Australia
  • while only in his early 30’s, he became director of pediatric neurosurgery after returning to John Hopkins Hospital in 1985
  • while at John Hopkins Hospital, Dr. Carson performed performed a radical procedure, a hemispherectomy, in which he removed half of a child’s brain to end her seizures and save her life

And of course Dr. Carson performed the first successful separation of twins who were joined at the head.  If you’re a person with any sense of reasoning, you’d find that it takes the intelligence and necessary “smarts” to lead a team of approximately 70 people over a 22 hour period to make this happen.  But perhaps Dr. Carson’s most important display of “smarts” occurred early on in his life when he made the decision to turn his life around.  To work hard, control his emotion, and turn to God for guidance.  That took a great deal of courage and intellect.

But this blogger didn’t lose the opportunity to level another accusation at Dr. Carson.  He  also believes Dr. Carson suffers from a rather severe case of egomania.  I’m not much of a gambler, but I would say it’s a safe bet that this blogger is also an Obama follower.  If you want to talk ego, if you want to talk lack of smarts, and if you want to talk about unworkable policies, look no further than Obama.  Where are all of his academic records?  Why are they sealed?

Since the above-mentioned blog included a rather detailed explanation of what it means to be smart, here’s a little something for the left: (http://psychcentral.com/disorders/narcissistic-personality-disorder-symptoms/)

“Symptoms of Narcissistic Personality Disorder

In order for a person to be diagnosed with narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) they must meet five or more of the following  symptoms:

  • Has a grandiose sense of self-importance (e.g., exaggerates achievements and talents, expects to be recognized as superior without commensurate achievements)
  • Is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love
  • Believes that he or she is “special” and unique and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people (or institutions)
  • Requires excessive admiration
  • Has a very strong sense of entitlement, e.g., unreasonable expectations of especially favorable treatment or automatic compliance with his or her expectations
  • Is exploitative of others, e.g., takes advantage of others to achieve his or her own ends
  • Lacks empathy, e.g., is unwilling to recognize or identify with the feelings and needs of others
  • Is often envious of others or believes that others are envious of him or her
  • Regularly shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes”

malignant-narcissist-narcissistDoesn’t this sound like Obama?  To meet the criteria, one only needs to possess 5 of these characteristics.  I’d say our president has a perfect batting average.

The blogger suggests we all stop using the word, “smart” to describe Dr. Carson.  He also invites you to inquire about why Dr. Carson’s health plan proposals are “dumb” (because he conveniently left out the details in his blog).  Be careful what you ask for….inquiring minds may want to know what “painfully ignorant” really is.
