Investigation into Climate Change Lies at Exxon/Mobil
Earlier this week you probably heard about an investigation into Exxon/Mobil led by NY Attorney General, Eric T. Schneiderman. The story appeared in a NY Times’ article written by columnists, Justin Gillis and Clifford Klauss. (See the article here).
This should be very concerning to people. We have a government that nullifies laws they don’t like and shakes down companies in an effort to create new laws they do want. Ends do not justify the means. Now we have government going after a company because it doesn’t embrace a narrative on “climate change”. We are witnessing the undoing of a once great nation to ideologies. This is Stalinism! This is not American and this should trouble you.
If you do a Google search for studies on climate change, you’ll find studies that prove and disprove the effect people and industries have on the climate. As recent as a few weeks ago NASA released a report indicating the amount of Antarctic sea ice is currently reaching record levels. There is no definitive proof that global warming is real, hence the narrative on the left has changed from “global warming” to “climate change”. If it can’t be proven that there is warming, then they simply rephrase the narrative to state the climate is changing. Now let’s talk about this little thing called “glaciation”. Glaciation is a glacial period (often referred to as an ice age) when there are very long periods of extreme cold temperatures that result in extended glacier coverage on earth. It’s been reported by some scientists that the earth has experienced at least five glacial periods (ice ages). The times between each of these glacial periods is often referred to as “interglacial periods”. Interglacial periods are periods in which the earth’s temperature rises to the point where the glaciers melt. That’s a lot of melting! We are currently in an interglacial period (as it is quite obvious that we are not currently experiencing the ice age).
Now I don’t know about you, but I haven’t been around long enough to experience an ice age or any of the other interglacial periods. But I am fairly certain there were no factories, no CO2 emissions, no coal mining, nor burning of fossil fuels from vehicles that resulted in global warming during those interglacia periods. Let’s face it folks, the earth will do what the earth does. It is older than we are and it controls us, we don’t control it.
Hillary Clinton also joined the cause, calling for an investigation. Shockingly, she did so right after Exxon/Mobil decided not to provide financial support for one of her
money laundering non-profits. Just today, Obama rejected a plan for the Keystone Pipeline, citing climate change as the main reason. Climate change has become a convenient excuse to push their liberal agenda and it is killing jobs! So how does the government and media respond? They jump on the bandwagon. It’s sad to see the government investigate a company over a very disputed issue. Not only has the NY Attorney General opened this investigation, but he as much as invited Attorneys General from all fifty states to join in. You can disagree with Exxon/Mobil and their position, but the citizens of this country and the media shouldn’t be cheer leading this type of government intervention. It’s another step down the wrong path.
